Friday Night Academy Ages 7-9

Eight (8) 75-minute Friday night training sessions 6:00-7:15pm
Players will be instructed in the sport of futsal and have an opportunity to implement lessons during 5v5 scrimmages at each session
Scheduled for Friday evenings to allow academy and competitive soccer players to cross train in futsal
Training will focus on technique, 1v1, 2v2, and 5v5, with emphasis on introducing the concept of playing in pairs
Talented players with the desire and commitment will have the opportunity to guest play at regional, national, and international tournaments via sister club, DA Futsal Academy (Orlando, FL)

Training sessions are held indoors at Brookwood Forest Elementary School Gym (3701 South Brookwood Rd, Mountain Brook, AL 35223).
Each session will begin with technique and then transition to 5v5 game play.
Curriculum and exercises are designed by Coach Flavio Do Amaral (former professional player and coach). Sessions are planned and coached by Phil Markham (3 years experience coaching futsal; 20 years experience coaching soccer) with support from additional experienced coaches. Phil has previously coached at Vestavia Hills Soccer Club’s Center of Excellence and holds an Australian Futsal Association Level 1 Coaching License.
What to bring: regular running/tennis or specialized futsal shoes and shin guards. Forest Futsal will provide the futsal balls each training session.
